Our Story.
Synergy Studios was established in 2004, with two instructors, four classes, and barely 2000 square feet on the second floor storage space in Maite. With the motto “where fitness meets wellness”, Synergy provided classes in dance, Pilates, Taebo, and yoga. Soon after, Synergy Cafe, and later Cafe Dharma, opened in the modest lobby and offered plant-based, delicious nutritious meals and shakes. In 2006, Synergy facilitated the first 21 Day Detox program. As the first brick and mortar yoga facility on island, Synergy strived to provide customers and clients both a workout and a work- in, holding to the holistic approach to fitness health and wellness. Synergy began to grow and added a satellite studio in East Hagatna, primarily for dance and yoga.
In 2009, Synergy founder, Clare Calvo, was joined by co-owners Lillian Reyes and Judy Rosario, and later Jesrae Moylan (2020). With the new partnership came additional classes, studios, and later, a move to the historic village of Hagatna. Fast forward to 2024; four owners, twenty instructors, additional classes at extended locations and hours of operation, seven days of the week, and the reopening of Synergy Cafe. Synergy has evolved tremendously over the last two decades. We are now operating with 5500 square feet for fitness and wellness. The heart of synergy lies within the very definition of Synergy, the interaction of two or more agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects.
Synergy has and will continue to serve our community by providing a safe space of empowerment; mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
